WICKMAYER IN TOP 20
(18.10.2009) Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium will move up to Top 20 in the world rankings after winning her second title of the year in Linz.
Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium won her second WTA Singles title of the year at the Generali Open in Linz, Austria amd will move up to world’s Top 20 in the world rankings for the first time in her career.

The 3rd seed was a last-minute entry into the tournament as she received a wildcard into the main draw. After battling through her first three rounds, she got the biggest ein of her career by defeating the top seed and World No.11 Flavia Pennetta of Italy 7-6 6-3 and prevailed 6-3 6-4 in the final against Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic.

Wickmayer won the first title of her career in Estoril this year during the claycourt season and made her name on the headlines with a surprising run into the semifinals of US Open, the last grand slam event of the year.
