SAFINA PULLS OUT OF BRISBANE
(10.12.2009) World number two Dinara Safina of Russia was forced to withdraw from her first tournament of the new season due to continuing back injury.
Dinara Safina of Russia, who lost her position at the top of women’s rankings at the end of the season, had to cancel her plans of playing in Brisbane International on the first week of the new season due to continuing back injury.

Safina injured her back during the Sony Ericsson Championships in October and was forced to withdraw from that event. She is still entered in Sydney International and Australian Open on the second and third weeks of January but the injury will decide whether she will be able to play or not.
