WICKMAYER PREVAILS IN AUCKLAND
(09.01.2010) Following the removal of her doping ban, Yanina Wickmayer geared up for a convincing start to the new season with a title in Auckland.
Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium, who received a 1 year playing ban after having a conflict with doping rules at the end of last season, came back with a title on the first week of the season right after her ban was lifted.

3 rd seeded Wickmayer upset top seed Flavia Pennetta of Italy 6-3 6-2 in the final after easily passing through the main draw without dropping a set.

In the 5th WTA singles final of her career, the young Belgian received her third title.
