HENIN UPSETS DEMENTIEVA
(20.01.2010) Former world number one Justine Henin upset 5th seed Elena Dementieva in straigth sets to gear up in her comeback and make herself a favorite in Australia.
Former world number one Justine Henin of Belgium, who retired in 2008 but decided to comeback this year, upset 5th seed Elena Dementieva of Russia 7-5 7-6(6) in the second round of Australian Open in Melbourne, only the second event of her comeback.

4th seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark opened the tournament with a 6-4 6-2 first round win over Aleksandra Wozniak of Canada, while 2nd seed Dinara Safina sailed into the third round with a 6-3 6-4 win over Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of Czech Republic 6-3 6-4.

Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium, who was able to continue playing after the lifting of her ban but was forced to play qualifying as she was a late entry, upset 12th seed Flavia Pennetta of Italy 7-6(2) 6-1 in the second round.
