CHINESE ATTACK
(27.01.2010) Chinese players Na Li and Jie Zheng both took their place in the semifinals after impressive runs at the Australian Open.
Jie Zheng, who had become the first Chinese to ever reach a Grand Slam semifinal in 2008 at Wimbledon, and her compatriot Na li, both reached the semifinals of the Australian Open, marking the first time two players from their country took part in a Grand Slam semi.

16 th seed Li upset 6th seed Venus Williams 2-6 7-6(4) 7-5 in a thriller, while Zheng beat fellow unseeded Maria Kirilenko of Russia 6-1 6-3.

Li will meet world number one Serena Williams in the semifinals, after the American produced a huge comeback to win 4-6 7-6(4) 6-2 against 7th seed Victoria Azarenka. The Belarussian led 4-0 in the second set after winning the first set.

Zheng will meet former world number one Justine Henin of Belgium, who continued her impressive comeback run with a 7-6(3) 7-5 victory over 19th seed Nadia Petrova of Russia.
