ZVONAREVA STOPS TANASUGARN
(14.02.2010) Vera Zvonareva of Russia won the title in Pattaya City by defeating home favorite Tamarine Tanasugarn in the final.

Defending Champion Vera Zvonareva of Russia defeated home favorite Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-4 6-4 in the final of PTT Pattaya Open in Pattaya City, Thailand.

Top seeded Zvonareva claimed the 10th singles title of her WTA career while also avenging her loss to Tanasugarn in their only previous match. Tanasugarn had upset Zvonareva at Wimbledon in 2008.

Still able to reach a final at her home country at age 32 after a long career, Tanasugarn lost the singles final but went on to win the doubles final alaong with Marina Erakovic of New Zealand.
