SHARAPOVA TAKES MEMPHIS TITLE
(20.02.2010) Maria Sharapova came back to winning ways by winning the title in Memphis for her first since coming back from injury break last year.

Top seed Maria Sharapova of Russia defeated unseeded Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden 6-2 6-2 in the final of Cellular South Cup in Memphis, Tennessee, USA.

The former world number one won her first title since coming back to courts on May 2009, after having a surgery on her shoulder in 2008. The 21st title of her career will move her up to number 13 in the rankings on Monday.

The 26-year-old Arvidsson, whose best success came here in 2006, when she won the title, again produced a remarkable performance to upset two seeded players and come to the final.
